Australia's toughest tanks, now available in Africa
Long range fuel tanks
Double your range without losing ground clearance.
More fuel means fewer stops, more choice about where you camp, and no rationing on the long legs between towns. Brown Davis tanks add capacity without lowering ground clearance, ramp-over or departure angle, and they are built to survive the corrugations and rocks that come with remote travel.
2.0 mm aluminised steel that resists corrosion. Made for corrugations, river crossings and rocky tracks.
Baffles stop fuel surging on steep climbs and dune faces, and add strength to the tank.
Holds fuel around the pickup so the engine never sucks air, and you can use the last few litres.
Double-thickness pads at every mount point carry the weight of a full tank over rough ground.
Tanks follow the factory lines, so ground clearance, ramp-over and departure angles stay the same.
Side-mounted and flush, so it is protected from rocks and catches metal particles in the fuel.
Replacement tanks reuse the factory sender, pump and filler, so your gauge and fuel cap work as before.
Stops fuel escaping in a rollover and stops the bowser cutting out early when you fill up.
Every tank is air pressure tested in our Melbourne factory before it ships.
The Explore Life · Africa series
Bolts in where the factory tank sits and carries much more fuel. Uses your factory gauge, pump and filler, so nothing changes in the cab.
A second tank that pumps fuel across to your main tank at the flick of a switch. Comes with a level gauge and an alarm when the auxiliary runs empty.
A second tank the engine draws from directly. A changeover switch lets you choose which tank to run, which helps balance weight when towing.
Most Brown Davis transfer auxiliary tanks come with our own gauge, switch and buzzer unit. It is no bigger than a coin and sits neatly in the dash. Press the button to pump fuel across to your main tank, watch the level drop, and a buzzer tells you when the auxiliary is empty. Fuel pumps left running dry burn out, so this one looks after itself.
